Networking is the method of connecting one computer to another, and even though you create a network every time you connect to the internet, networking is widely regarded as connecting two or more computers on the client side of the telephone line terminals.
In the home environment, this would probably mean the family desktop computer, a printer and one or two laptop computers.
BW Data Designs can help you make the right choices for your particular requirements and will even install your selected network.
There are currently three methods of networking computers in the home environment:
- A wired only network
- A wireless only network
- Networking over the internal mains supply wiring.
Most networks tend to be a combination of wired and wireless types, with the main home computer being used to set up and control the networking device.
Networking over the mains wiring is a fairly new concept which offers some of the conveniences of wireless networking with the security of wired networks. |
