BW Data Designs recommends that users deploy a number of security packages because in reality there is currently no program which deals effectively with all of the threats which might be encountered during periods of internet use.
BW Data Designs also advises that some type of cleaning software be deployed in order to keep some of the unwanted downloads such as cookies under control and keep your computer running smoothly.

BW Data Designs currently recommends the following software packages:
| AVG 2011 Free |
AVG is a well established and respected anti-virus scanner. AVG 2011 is free for personal use. Updates are automatic and other features include a link scanner and website safety advisor. AVG also offers a toolbar, however BW Data Designs would suggest that this function is not accepted.
|
| Ccleaner |
Ccleaner is a well known general purpose cleaner able to remove unwanted cookies, temporary files and other junk files. Ccleaner can also be used to clean the registry.
|
| MalwareBytes Anti-Malware |
MalwareBytes is a relatively new anti spyware scanner and remover. This program can be used to stop the action and in most cases remove any offending spyware infection. Updates are manual in the free version and BW Data Designs advises that the latest updates are applied prior to any scans. MalwareBytes is "shareware" and while there might be a request for payment to download it, it is free for personal use.
|
| SUPERAnti-Spyware |
SUPERAntiSpyware not only removes spyware infections, but when used in conjunction with MalwareBytes will remove any remnants of infections already removed. It can also "intelligently" remove suspect cookies.

BW Data Designs stresses that these are just our favourite security programs and that other equally well respected programs are available. All these programs can be downloaded from the various authors' websites or from www.majorgeeks.com
